Rayburn Country is a golf resort community located on Sam Rayburn Reservoir in the Forest Country of Deep East Texas. The amenities include 27 holes of championship golf, clubhouse, pool, tennis and basketball courts, sports core and community activities. The Club operates in a semi private manner.
As of January 1, Rayburn Country Resort is under new ownership and management. The investment group Rayburn Country Redevelopment Corporation along with the management team of William Cole Inc. have purchased and are currently renovating the amenities, improving roads and will soon begin marketing properties. Among the renovations, the Blue and Gold Courses will receive new green complexes, an entirely new irrigation system, partial cart path replacement and some tee modifications. The Green Course will be available for play until the renovations are completed. The target reopening date is early October 2010. The Clubhouse, hotel and other buildings are currently being studied for new design and decor to begin sometime in April. Opening on those properties should coincide with the opening of the courses.
